THE MUSIC OF LSD
SOON (Connective Records 2015)
”SOON”, the sequel to the success debut ”Trio Colossus” is challenging. The music is soft and beautiful, ugly and raw. It is catchy and explosive, it is sincerely and soulful.
The music spans over a big spectrum with the negro Spiritual ”Soon One Morning” as the opening song. ”Je Sues Seul Ce Soiree” is an old french chanson and ”Memories Of Her” makes you think of a hymn. The band takes the listener deep inside her soul where both beauty and ugliness are found. SOON conveys darkness and lightness, rough and smooth, and is filled with joy, swing and happiness.
For Lindborg, Sjöstedt & Daniel, the trio feels like a three-headed beast when they play together. One organism, one unit and a diabolic swing. It is like every beat on the drums, every snap on the base and every tone from the saxophone are played by the whole band. “Martin and Daniel play the saxophone as much as I do” says Fredrik Lindborg.
Fredrik Lindborg – tenor, baritone saxophone, bass clarinet
Martin Sjöstedt – bass
Daniel Fredriksson – drums
